Recommended daily allowance
The daily need for this vitamin are up to 400 IU (International Units). However, many people intake from 600 to 1200 IU per day without any consequences.
Infants up to one year recommended intake of 50 IU per day, while children between one and ten years should consume up to 200 IU of vitamin E daily.
In adults, beside the vitamin E it is recommended to intake of organically bound selenium (about 50 to 200 micrograms per day), as this reduces the need for intake of vitamin E. For children up to seven years, it is recommended intake of 100 micrograms of organic selenium daily.
It is not recommended intake of vitamin E at the same time with inorganic iron, or contraceptives because vitamin E can react with them. In case where is needed to intake inorganic iron, or contraceptive pills for pregnancy control it is recommended intake of vitamin E a few hours before or after consuming of these products.
